How this HHI is organized:

Secretary - Shana Villines (Hometown Health Improvement Leader ADH)
The coalition also has dues paying members and Community Action Projects (CAP). This is the fourth year with a membership list of over twenty community organizations/businesses and the CAPs continue to grow.

MCHC has been incorporated, the 501c3 status obtained, and by-laws written and approved.
MCHC has a Mission and Vision statement that was written and approved. We revisited the statements in 2002 to assess if our common goals were still being attained. Revisions were made and approved.

Mini-grants awarded to CAPs groups from MCHC
Home Visiting Program in place and serving 31 families
Life skills classes were given to Huntsville 6 th graders 2003.
Plan to include St Paul and Kingston 5 and 6 th graders this year as well as offer a one night work-shop for the Huntsville 7 th graders this year
Two MCHC members went to Washington DC to attend grant workshop
Breast Care awareness classes given to Hispanic women in the community thru a Komen Grant
Project Coordinator working to increase Hispanic representation to the local coalition
Contracted with Dr. Fred Wills with the U of A to conduct MCHC evaluation survey. Results reviewed with the Coalition and projects in place to address the results
Current/Future projects:
Proposal to Walton Foundation for Activities Complex for Madison County. The land has already been purchased.
Plan to participate in Arkansas Prevention Needs Assessment Student Survey in 2004.
Plan to review the results of 4 County Health Needs Assessment(WA, Benton, Madison, and Carroll counties) and develop projects based on results.
Plan to have booth at County Health Fair and the County Fair.
Health Fair at local Conagra Plant.
Will have a dinner at the Turkey Fest.
Plan to have booths at local fairs in Kingston and St Paul as well as local ball games promoting the coalition and Activities Complex.
Continue to work with Camp Harvest, Movin 'n' Action and Project Focus to decrease substance abuse in Madison County.
